About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Staff Commodity Manager to join our dynamic team in Minnesota. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the sourcing and commodity management of our chemical and gasses supply chain, collaborating with global internal teams and external suppliers to ensure efficient and cost-effective sourcing strategies.

Requirements

  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with international teams and suppliers.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and knowledge on supply chain management software (like SAP, Oracle) will be a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Extensive experience in commodity management, procurement, supply chain roles or related roles, preferably in the hard disk drive or electronics industry.
  • Technical experience in manufacturing, engineering, or chemical industry is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, etc. or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in the hard disk drive or related technology industries.
  • Knowledge of global supply chain dynamics and procurement best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commodity sourcing strategies to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets for the chemical commodities primarily supporting our wafer fabs in both the US and UK. This position will also support Design Centers located in the USA.
  • Manage strategic relationships with suppliers. Set strategic plans, performs cost analysis, negotiate cost, contracts, agreements and allocations to achieve lowest cost of acquisition and assure supply continuity
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams internationally, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to align commodity requirements with production goals.
  • Communicate effectively with overseas internal teams and global suppliers to ensure seamless coordination and timely delivery of materials.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and commodity pricing to identify risks and opportunities in the supply chain.
  • Drive actions to mitigate the supply risk, implement and re-enforce business continuity plans.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Benchmark and report on potential green chemistry solutions to create a positive impact on the environment.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on commodity strategies, suppliers' performance, cost savings, and supply chain efficiency to senior management.
