As a Staff Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will work on Lytx production services which handles massive amounts of video and data collected from over 600,000 vehicles worldwide. You will have extensive hands-on experience in crafting, building and automating AWS cloud infrastructure and leading by example. We have hands-on expertise in building standards and framework for infrastructure as code and work closely with multiple engineering teams and provide technical leadership on cloud infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • 15 + years of experience in leading highly available cloud based distributed systems. Significant prior experience migrating and transforming legacy solutions to AWS cloud.
  • 4 + years of hands-on experience developing modular and reusable enterprise grade Terraform code to run AWS services.
  • Proficient in running Kubernetes and various container and cloud native technologies.
  • Subject matter level expertise in AWS Network & Security using API Gateway, ALBs, VPCs, VPC peering, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, FlowLogs, Network ACLs, SGs, VPNs, EKS networking, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, SSO, Inspector, KMS and WAF.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS compute and storage services using EKS, ECS, Lamda, EC2, MSK, AMIs, Redshift, Kinesis, RDS, DynmoDB, ElastiCache, S3, Glacier.
  • Significant experience with general Infrastructure management and monitoring services using Control Tower, CloudWatch, Route53, Autoscaling, Orgs, SSO, Billing etc.
  • Experienced in Architecture and Design across public clouds: AWS, GCP and Azure.
  • Excellent documentation and interpersonal skills. Ability to present technical content to management and engineering teams.
  • Participate in secondary on-call rotation.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications: AWS Advance and Specialty level Certifications
  • Hands-on experience handling Cloud Databases (Mongo, ElasticSearch, Snowflake)
  • AI/ML experience using SageMaker, TensorFlow etc.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject-matter guide on core AWS services for compute, storage, network, monitoring, management, databases and preferably AI/ML
  • Work with Architects, DBAs, Developers, DevOps, SRE and Data engineers to bake AWS standard methodologies, IaC and cost optimizations early in the design process.
  • Understand Cloud TCO and implement tools and processes to improve AWS cost management and accountability.
  • Design and Implement Lytx cloud services using AWS Well architected framework principals.
  • Build and manage all Lytx cloud resources using (IaC - Terraform) and Gitops principals.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and training for new or less experienced team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
