Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman has an opening for a Staff Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Roy, UT . Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Staff Cloud DevOps Engineer who will take part in the design, build, deploy, and maintenance of cloud-based systems and infrastructure to help the Digital Ecosystem Segment store data, run applications, and manage IT services efficiently and securely. In this position you will:

  • Take part in leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure using IaC principles.
  • Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Automate operational processes and implement the best tools and technologies to support development and operations.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for system security and compliance holistically throughout the environment.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including root cause analysis, to resolve system issues.
  • Implement and manage monitoring and logging systems to ensure system health and performance.
  • Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline workflows and ensure smooth integration of new software releases
  • Mentor other team members, providing technical leadership on infrastructure strategy, automating complex workflows, optimizing system performance, and fostering collaboration between development and operations teams
  • 12 Years experience with Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study; or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval
  • Currently holds an IAT Level II certification per DoD 8570.01 such as CompTIA Security+ CE
  • Extensive experience deploying and maintaining infrastructure with at least one major cloud provider, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with Containerization and Orchestration technologies, such as Kubernetes, Podman, or OpenShift.
  • Experience utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration Management tools, such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery pipelines using Gitlab and other CI/CD tools.
  • Strong scripting skills to support automation (ex. Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Experience supporting Windows Enterprise architecture and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or similar enterprise Linux distribution.
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud platform Infrastructure management & services.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
  • Experience or strong understanding of networking with Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), Load Balancers, DNS, Firewall Rules, and Security Groups.
  • Experience with secrets (ex. Hashicorp Vault) and artifact management (Nexus, Harbor)
  • Experience and understanding of working within DoD cybersecurity compliance guidelines.
  • Experience as a Product Owner or other technical leadership position in an Agile environment.
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Proven ability to hold team members accountable to complete work based on approved technical architecture, on schedule and within budget
