ARA is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual to operate, maintain, and repair specialized pavement data collection equipment for highway infrastructure assessment, in support of ARA’s contract with the Florida DOT State Materials Office (SMO) in Gainesville. No previous pavement testing experience is necessary; training will be provided as needed. Applicants should possess good communication skills, flexibility, and a willingness to learn and be challenged. This position involves travel throughout the State and requires an excellent driving record and driving skills, mechanical ability, and basic computer knowledge. All travel expenses are paid by ARA. When not traveling, technicians perform office-based activities, such as equipment maintenance and data processing. The rate of pay for this position ranges from $19/hr (no pavement testing-related experience) to $23/hr (equipment operator with multiple years of experience), and premium overtime is paid for hours over 40 in a week.
