Responsibilities for a Chaplain with Phoebe Berks: The staff chaplain is responsible for coordinating and conducting a variety of religious activities and providing for the spiritual needs of the residents and families of the community with a primary focus on Independent living. Provides pastoral care to all Phoebe Berks staff. Serves as a clinical mentor for CPE students/interns and is responsible for volunteer development and community networking. Supervises on-site pastoral care staff and volunteers. Works collaboratively with PC/HCC chaplain and other departments to provide holistic care . Understands the differences in resident needs based on the diversity in services and levels of care offered on the Berks campus. Uses creativity, imagination and evidence-based practices to develop programs that are appropriate for each setting/population. Overseas administrative duties associated with department and care of Berks Chapel. Requirements for a Chaplain with Phoebe Berks: The ability to deliver excellent customer service to all residents, families, and coworkers. Master of Divinity degree; completed at least four units of CPE Ordained for ministry and in good standing with one's faith group/tradition Endorsed for chaplaincy by one's faith group/tradition Board certified or eligible for board certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains/APC, National Association of Catholic Chaplains/NACC, or other nationally recognized professional chaplaincy organization A minimum of three years experience in a pastoral ministry setting. Eligible for certification by Association of Professional Chaplains or moving toward this goal. Candidates who excel are those who can thrive in a positive and respectful Customer Driven Culture while embodying the organization's Faith in Action Mission, Vision, and Values.
