About The Position

The Staff Auto Damage Appraiser, Senior is responsible for scheduling and writing estimates within Company guidelines at residences, shops or tow yards based on assignments received. This role is in the field and requires travel throughout the Union & Essex county including Newark, NJ This role does not provide a company vehicle but does provide mileage reimbursement.

Requirements

  • Familiar with CCC One Estimating platform
  • Minimum of 6 Years Body Shop experience and/or related insurance experience required.
  • PA Auto Appraiser license required (If you do not currently have one, you will need to obtain one within 6 months)
  • Customer service skills and experience
  • Multi-tasking, problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making abilities.
  • Technical aptitude, including working knowledge with estimating systems,
  • Own vehicle and have reliable transportation.
  • Adequate space for a home office and ability to work in an unsupervised environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Contacting and arranging schedules with customers, autobody shops and tow yards
  • Inspecting, photographing and appraising damage to vehicles involved in an automobile accident or loss.
  • Estimate parts and labor to repair damage, using standard automotive labor and parts-cost software.
  • Evaluate practicality of repair as opposed to payment of market value of vehicle before accident.
  • Review repair-cost estimates with automobile repair shop to secure agreement on cost of repairs.
  • Complete, review, and reconcile supplemental repair estimates
  • Estimates are created and negotiated based on company guidelines and applicable law.
  • Reinspect and review estimates for accuracy and conformity to Company guidelines.
