About The Position

GoPro’s audio engineering team creates immersive audio experiences for our customers. On this team, you will develop audio systems that capture amazing content from formula drift racers to surfing mavericks to intimate acoustic guitar performances. You will find and create new audio technologies for GoPro devices. You will develop the latest audio systems for GoPro cameras and accessories. You will develop audio systems as you: define requirements, select and integrate audio components, verify HW performance, develop new features, create and tune audio algorithms, capture various use cases in the field, and incorporating listening feedback. You will coordinate with internal teams (product management, engineering, operations, program management, etc.) and external partners (suppliers and contract manufacturers) to ensure audio is awesome! You will be responsible for audio performance for the products you design. You will grow in experience and responsibility.

Requirements

  • BS, MS or Ph.D in an engineering discipline, preferably related to acoustics and/or digital signal processing
  • 5+ years of experience developing audio systems for portable consumer electronics, including some of the following activities:
  • Defining audio requirements
  • Evaluating audio hardware in lab and in production
  • Integrating acoustic transducers into mechanics
  • Prototyping and deploying new audio algorithms in Audio Weaver, Matlab, C++, Python and Tensor Flow
  • Developing test methods to evaluate new technologies
  • Developing tools for evaluating audio performance
  • Recording audio in the outdoors
  • Ability to work well with other humans

  • Knowing mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing processes
