The insurance defense staff attorney will be responsible for first-party property and casualty litigation. This role involves managing a full caseload, preparing assessments of cases including factual summations and legal research, conducting motion practice, taking and defending depositions, propounding and responding to discovery, and representing HCPCI at hearings and mediations. The position requires the ability to aggressively pursue HCPCI’s interests, self-sufficiency, self-motivation, multitasking, and proficiency with relevant technology like calendaring and e-filing. It operates under a hybrid working model, requiring remote workers to report to a central office for one week every quarter for collaboration, team building, and educational exercises, and also requires in-office presence every Thursday and as needed for project requirements, team meetings, or other organizational needs.
