STAFF ATTORNEY: RE-ENTRY (Springfield)
About The Position
Community Legal Aid (CLA) is seeking a staff attorney for its Re-Entry program in Springfield. The attorney will be responsible for assisting formerly incarcerated individuals in overcoming legal barriers to successful re-entry into society. This includes helping clients with sealing, expunging, or correcting their Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI), and addressing employment and housing barriers caused by criminal records through representation before administrative agencies and in court. Beyond individual client representation, the role involves community outreach and education, and close collaboration with community partners.
Requirements
- Law students currently in their third year of law school, recent law school graduates, and more experienced attorneys are eligible to apply.
- Demonstrated commitment to poverty law and social justice work.
- Experience working with diverse communities.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative setting.
Nice To Haves

- Fluency in Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Help formerly incarcerated individuals overcome the legal barriers that impede their successful re-entry into society.
- Assist individuals with sealing, expunging, or correcting their Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).
