Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
Active membership in the California State Bar
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
Proficiency with standard business applications

Nice To Haves

3 years of experience as a practicing attorney preferred
Experience in managed care, health plans, or healthcare strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Provide legal advice on regulatory, business, employment, privacy, and contract matters
Draft, review, and revise contracts, notices, disclosures, and other legal documents
Support the development of strategies to identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and interact with outside counsel as needed
Represent WHA in regulatory matters and assist with submissions
Participate in internal and external committees, meetings, and presentations
Ensure alignment with WHA’s Privacy and Information Security programs
Promote compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements
Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in accordance with California State Bar guidelines
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
