About The Position

The Staff Attorney provides foundational legal support to the Legal team, performing legal research, assisting with drafting and negotiation, and supporting the day-to-day operations of assigned business unit(s). This role is designed for an early-career attorney who wants to build deep experience in contracts, regulatory analysis, and operational legal support in a complex and innovative healthcare organization.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school.
  • License to practice law in good standing.
  • Minimum 3 years of legal experience; relevant business experience may substitute for the legal experience requirement.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with attention to detail and an ability to synthesize and communicate complex ideas.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and seek guidance appropriately.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator, with the ability to work as part of a broader legal and business team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on regulations, contracts, and policies, and prepare clear, concise summaries and recommendations.
  • Review and negotiation of assigned matters and agreements.
  • Draft and revise standard agreements, contract provisions, correspondence, and internal guidance documents.
  • Support the development and maintenance of policies, guidance, and checklists, including incorporating feedback from various stakeholders.
  • Help track and document the status of assigned matters to ensure accurate, timely reporting and coordinated follow-up across legal and business teams.
  • Collaborate with legal team members to identify opportunities to streamline workflows, centralize information, and reduce repetitive administrative work (e.g., through use of playbooks, templates, and legal technology tools).
  • Participate in department and cross-functional initiatives, gaining exposure to technology, data, privacy, and other strategic areas supported by the Legal team.
