The Staff Attorney II provides legal representation either within a clinical program or as part of a free‑standing program. In clinical programs, the attorney is primarily responsible for handling cases that extend beyond the academic semester and for providing client representation during summer months or whenever the College of Law is not in session. For free‑standing programs, the attorney manages a reasonable caseload aligned with the requirements of the program’s grant. Responsibilities include maintaining case outcome data, ensuring compliance with grant‑monitoring requirements, and supporting timely and accurate grant reporting. Special Job Dimensions: This position involves working with people’s highly sensitive, confidential, and often traumatic information. One is advised to take proper self-care in this position. Overnight travel for hearings happens regularly.
