About The Position

We are currently seeking a full-time staff associate to join the team of staff in Palo Alto. Palo Alto is located on the Peninsula, between San Jose and San Francisco. We currently have ministry for high school students, and Wyldlife. We are a growing area, looking for someone ready to jump in to help the area expand. This staff person would lead a team in the following ministries: Wyldlife, Capernaum, or college. They would also do ministry alongside the Area Director for high school. This person would work closely with the Area Director to recruit and train leaders. We are looking for a staff associate who feels called to serve this community, who is passionate about sharing Christ with kids who haven't heard the Gospel, and who has a desire to build Young Life communities with college, high school, and middle school age students. An ideal candidate would be someone who is a self-starter and willing to try new things, someone who likes to collaborate and work closely with teammates, and someone who has a heart for the unchurched. We are looking for someone with a desire for Young Life to grow in the area and wants to contribute to that growth!

Requirements

  • Experience in direct ministry.
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team in Wyldlife, Capernaum, or college ministries.
  • Work alongside the Area Director for high school ministry.
  • Recruit and train leaders for the ministry.
  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan for spiritual development.
  • Participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
  • Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership.
  • Recruit and train new leaders to build a leadership team.
  • Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
  • Raise financial support and maintain good donor care practices.
  • Communicate ministry updates to personal donor partners.
  • Network and develop strategic relationships with key adults in the community.
  • Plan and execute area fundraising events.
  • Engage in contact work and lead a team in Young Life club and Campaigners.
  • Implement a summer and school-season camping strategy.
  • Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp each year.
  • Manage finances with stewardship and accountability.
  • Maintain accurate information on kids, leaders, and donors.
  • Provide clear and professional communication.
  • Set yearly strategic ministry plans and review them regularly.

Benefits

  • Salary range is between 48,000 - 60,000 per year including a cost of living allowance.
  • Salary is negotiated depending on qualifications, education and fundraising capacity.
