About The Position

We help families connect with nature, preserve Kentucky’s natural heritage, and support innovative, resilient, and sustainable energy solutions that strengthen the state’s economy. The Office of Administrative Services is seeking a Staff Assistant to play a key role in ensuring compliance, accountability and efficiency across essential administrative functions. As the Staff Assistant in the Executive Director's Office, you will support high level operations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree
  • Six years of administrative or management experience.
  • A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Additional administrative, management, or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Compiling and analyzing detailed performance metrics to support leadership decision-making.
  • Serving on various internal compliance and review processes to include outside employment, educational assistance, and federal Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement reviews.
  • Reviews draft policy documents and makes recommendations to executive leadership team.
  • Once policy changes are made, ensures they are posted to internal Sharepoint site for cabinet employee reference.
  • Serve as lead contact for cabinet travel requests which includes the coordination, review and approvals to ensure compliance with regulations and cabinet policies.
  • Review and approvals of cash deposits as lead contact for the cabinet.
  • Ensures vendor compliance regarding audit requirements of federal law 2 CFR 200.
