The Staff Assistant to the Director of Risk Management is responsible for assisting with administrative and secretarial tasks. This role involves handling complex assignments that require discretion, judgment, confidentiality, and problem-solving skills. The position also includes performing additional related duties as needed.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact between managers, employees, vendors, and patrons, prioritizing excellent customer service and effective communication.
  • Manage phone and email inquiries, ensuring timely responses.
  • Draft and edit correspondence, schedule appointments, and maintain digital and paper files.
  • Reconcile and process invoices in Oracle.
  • Review incident reports and pull data from SharePoint.
  • Support the department with gathering FOIA-responsive documents.
  • Assist the department project managers.
  • Prepare monthly reports.
  • Communicate with the Chicago Park District's various departments, Workers' Compensation TPA, and insurance brokers.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
  • At least one year of related administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
  • Personal vehicle to travel to and between various Park District parks and facilities, court, or meetings is preferred.
