About The Position

FCA is a collaborative architectural firm with an excellent, flexible work culture. We are seeking a Staff Architectural Designer to support a growing, mostly healthcare practice. This entry-level role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects that improve patient outcomes and support clinical operations. The successful candidate will assist project teams with design development, documentation, and coordination while building a strong foundation in healthcare and other sectors of architecture and professional practice.

Requirements

  • Local to Orlando
  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s in architecture with up to 3 years’ experience
  • Working toward registration
  • Familiar to well-versed with Revit
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to use sound and independent judgment

Responsibilities

  • Uses independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and use of standard techniques, but functions as a collaborative member of a team
  • Independently solves problems and reviews findings with team leader
  • Compiles data, performs design computations, and executes all necessary code analysis with guidance from team leader
  • Makes quantity takeoffs
  • Prepares architectural renderings and documentation in coordination with internal and external team members
  • Inspects architectural features of projects in field with assistance from team leader
  • Receives technical guidance
  • Receives supervisory approval on project documentation
  • Checks own work for quality control on a regular basis; ensures that work is reviewed by team leader
  • Coordinates assigned tasks with team leader according to workplan
  • Maintains project files and records (electronic or otherwise) in an organized fashion that is readily identifiable and coordinated with team members
  • Possesses diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices
  • Uses advanced techniques while performing work
  • Responsible for complete documentation, specifications, and material selection
