ARCADIS is seeking a Staff Architect Designer, with 5 to 10 years’ experience, to join our Resilience Division team out of the New York City / Westchester area. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual, to join our team and with the support of a nationally recognized technical staff from one of the best-qualified consulting firms in the country. The Staff Designer will get involved in commercial, industrial and municipal water resource infrastructure design and construction projects around in the tristate area and nationally. They will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge in developing design projects, coordinating with other disciplines and sub-consultants and interact with various stakeholders. For this role we are ideally looking for two designers with detailing experience versus direct design experience. In this role you will work under Senior and Principal Architects in developing Conceptual Design, Design Development and Construction Documentation for projects. You must be able to understand design concepts and construction methods through a critical thinking and problem-solving lens. Conceptual design and design development responsibilities will include renderings, detail development, material research, code research and site/field visits. The ideal candidate will be expected to use both their oral and written communication skills to effectively progress projects with other disciplines and other stakeholders. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $135,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.

Requirements

  • Knowledge with masonry, concrete and steel construction design and detailing in municipal and industrial environments
  • Client Management and overall communication skills with strong leadership experience
  • Proficiency with Revit, Primavera and/or MS Project and the MS Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • International Code Council Codes experience
  • 3D Max, Rhino, Photoshop or other presentation platform experience

Nice To Haves

  • LEED or Other Sustainable Program Experience
  • Actual making or building experience
  • Knowledge of NYC Codes and Permitting
  • Documented Revit Certification.
