The Opportunity As the Staff Application Engineer -Building Codes and Tools, you will be responsible for keeping abreast of new and changing building codes and how they impact the installation and commissioning of LG Airconditioning Technologies products. Additionally you will be the point of contact and support for the LATS

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in HVAC Application Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards
  • Experience with product management and/or software tools
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into practical business solutions

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret key building code standards to support product application and compliance
  • Identify and communicate code requirements that influence product design, features, and development opportunities
  • Monitor industry code trends, updates, and regulatory changes impacting product and application strategies
  • Provide actionable insights from code committees and industry groups to internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Product Support Engineering to strengthen technical expertise and code application knowledge
  • Lead development of application materials (e.g., technical papers, presentations) related to building codes
  • Manage the LATS software suite across all applicable product categories
  • Ensure software readiness aligns with Product Roadmap and New Product Introduction (NPI) schedules
  • Gather, prioritize, and align software requirements from cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Operations, Order Management, Content Development, etc.)
  • Define and manage software enhancements, including feature development, issue resolution, and product integration
  • Maintain and execute the software development roadmap in collaboration with global/HQ development teams
  • Develop and maintain user-facing support materials, including user guides, training presentations, and webinar content
  • Support field teams and internal departments by enabling effective use of software tools
  • Partner with subject matter experts to deliver technical training and expand organizational knowledge
