About The Position

You lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. You are empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate to meet user and customer needs. Google Cloud Business Platform's (GCBP) Finance teams enable Google Cloud's growth by delivering and managing seamless, scalable, and efficient Order-to-Cash systems and processes. Google Cloud's scale and the variety of its offerings create unique and complex challenges in this space. This requires innovative solutions blending Google's own first-party systems and third-party enterprise systems like SAP. The team collaborates cross-functionally with Google Cloud's Ordering and Finance users and teams within GCBP. This team offers an opportunity to work on business-critical transformations that have a direct and significant impact on Google Cloud's success. As a Staff Application Engineer, you'll act as a key technical leader and on-site engineering point of contact. You will have an opportunity to build partnerships with these business teams, understand their needs, and ensure our Order-to-Cash (O2C) systems and solutions, including SAP, provide seamless support for their critical operations. In this role, you will represent cloud SAP's technical capabilities and interests in cross-product area discussions and collaborations. You will be a technical leader with expertise in application engineering, excellent communication skills, and a passion for designing and delivering impactful solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience in Order-to-Cash (O2C) business processes such as ordering, subscription management, invoicing, or business recognition.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in application engineering and technical leadership, with a focus on managing large-scale technical solutions or migrations.
  • Experience working in an environment collaborating with multi-site engineering teams.
  • Experience driving technical strategy and roadmap execution in a complex and evolving business domain.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript, with experience in cloud-hosted services (e.g., GCP).
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
