As a Staff Analytics Engineer , you will play a critical role in shaping the company’s data foundation—designing systems, models, and pipelines that power analytics, reporting, and product insights.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software, data, or analytics engineering.
  • 5+ years specifically in data/analytics engineering roles .
  • Deep expertise in SQL and analytical data modeling .
  • Strong experience with dbt and code-based ETL/ELT frameworks .
  • Experience designing scalable data pipelines and warehouse architectures .
  • Strong understanding of Kimball data modeling principles .
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (data science, engineering, product).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Python or another programming language.
  • Experience with Snowflake, AWS (S3, RDS, etc.), and Postgres .
  • Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow .
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau .
  • Experience with semantic layers like Cube.dev .
  • Exposure to metadata tools (e.g., Atlan).
  • Experience in education or edtech .
  • Passion for mentorship, knowledge sharing, and improving team standards.
  • Strong interest in building high-quality, scalable data systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable ELT pipelines using dbt and modern data tooling.
  • Architect and maintain data warehouse schemas that support analytics and reporting.
  • Develop robust analytical models and metrics for internal and customer-facing use cases.
  • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to ensure clean, reliable datasets.
  • Implement best practices around data governance, privacy, and security .
  • Optimize SQL transformations using advanced techniques (CTEs, window functions, etc.).
  • Improve CI/CD processes, testing frameworks, and deployment pipelines for data workflows.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to team-wide standards, documentation, and best practices.
  • Building datasets that track student performance and progress over time .
  • Designing slowly changing dimension models tailored to education systems.
  • Improving data pipeline reliability and scalability.
