About The Position

The Community Engagement Program Manager at the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) is responsible for developing and managing lived experience committees for the Housing for Health (HFH) and Office Diversion and Reentry (ODR) programs. This role involves strategic collaboration with leadership, recruitment and retention of committee members, and ensuring effective communication and training. The program manager will also oversee grant management and evaluation efforts to enhance program effectiveness and sustainability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Management, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Social Work, Community Development, Criminal Justice or a related field.
• One year of experience in a program providing housing and support services to clients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, or one year of experience analyzing organizational management issues in health and human services.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with individuals who have lived experience in homelessness or justice involvement.
• Strong project management and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of LA County programs serving underserved populations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage two lived experience committees for HFH and ODR.
• Recruit and retain 8-10 service recipients with lived experience for each committee.
• Create a strategy for lived experience collaboration with leadership.
• Implement quarterly meetings and training for committee members.
• Conduct outreach and establish partnerships with community stakeholders.
• Ensure bi-directional knowledge sharing between committee members and HFH/ODR staff.
• Manage grant reporting and ensure deliverables are met.
• Conduct pre- and post-surveys to evaluate committee efficacy.
• Facilitate collaboration with other lived experience groups and committees.
