About The Position
The Cap-and-Trade Program is seeking an enthusiastic lead team member with expertise across utility regulation and industrial decarbonization to lead development and implementation of Cap-and-Trade Program allowance allocation policy. This includes assessing the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of industrial technologies and evaluating CARB's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction programs for the industrial sector. The position is available for a motivated Staff Air Pollution Specialist (SAPS) in the Program Development Section, responsible for technical and economic analyses of industrial, natural gas, electricity, and allowance allocation policy for the Cap-and-Trade Program. The SAPS will lead a team in assessing and implementing approaches to decarbonizing the industrial sector, protecting consumers from cost impacts, and mitigating GHG emissions leakage risk associated with the Program.
