As an Accountant, you will assist other accounting and billing support functions (accounts payable & accounts receivable). You are responsible for the accurate processing of invoices, expenses, reports, and credit card logs. Ensures deadlines are met and accounting and customer issues are handled in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with an accounting emphasis from an accredited college or university.
  • Two or more years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proven knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, and team building skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • High ethical and moral standards.
  • Advanced computer skills using spreadsheet, databases and accounting software.
  • Professional work ethic.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting experience in a manufacturing, liquid terminals, or construction industry.
  • JD Edwards, UKG and Oracle Business Intelligence software experience.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
  • Process Customer payments and prepare and distribute customer billing.
  • Administer the Purchase Order materials procurement process.
  • Preparation of daily and monthly accounting journal entries, including all appropriate back-up information.
  • Ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
  • Review product costs for inaccuracies, resolve differences, and keep the ERP and database system up-to-date.
  • Process Accounts Payable and assist with payment processing and contract administration.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Preparation of detailed balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Work with operations management to provide accounting and analytical support.
  • Assist in establishing, maintaining and enhancing accounting controls and procedures.
  • Provide assistance and analysis on special projects or other financial activities, as needed.
  • Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
