Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • College degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is required.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant technology.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and effective time management.
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial accounting standards.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Excel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain reconciliations of general ledger balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy of information.
  • Compile and process data from time and attendance system; verify accuracy of data and process bi-weekly company payroll.
  • Provide reporting on payroll results through accounting system and/or time and attendance system as needed.
  • Participate in the preparation of financial and administrative reports; prepare and analyze financial reports and records to determine trends or irregularities.
  • Participate in month-end, quarterly, and year-end close process, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliation.
  • Participate in the year-end audit; prepare supporting schedules, work papers, and financial reports as requested.
  • Assist the Controllers in establishing and administering procedures, controls, and systems pertaining to financial matters.
  • Process and file company taxes with various federal, state, and local taxing authorities.
  • Monitor incoming accounting inquiries and respond in a timely manner.
  • May serve as back-up in the processing of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and income audit.
