About The Position

The Staff Accountant is responsible for daily cash reporting, as well as assisting in month-end closing, assigned journal entries, account reconciliations and GL analysis. As well as supporting month-end financial reporting, internal and external audits and ad hoc projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Exposure to complex cash accounting
  • 2-4 years of hands-on accounting experience ideally in a large corporate
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting concepts
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monthly cash and accrual reconciliations, including credit card fees and in-transit transactions
  • Reconciling of cash includes analyzing bank statements, cash/payment registers, and reviewing transactions to identify discrepancies within the general ledger account and ensuring the company’s cash policies are effective and adequate
  • Reconciling of accrual accounts includes a thorough understanding of the company’s accrual process and reviewing all expenses within the balances to avoid misstating the financial position of the company and making any necessary correcting/adjusting entries if necessary
  • Creating journal entries for multiple accounts, including cash, revenue recognition, revenue and expense accruals, intercompany, adjustment and reclassifications
  • Maintain and report the daily cash receivables and disbursements to required parties for cash forecasting purposes
  • Supports reporting and analysis of monthly and quarterly results
  • Prepares ad hoc reports for management - including various department requests
