About The Position

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Controller with all aspects of general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting. This position is responsible supporting preparation of accurate financial statements, maintaining general ledger integrity, and performing complex reconciliations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing to cross-functional financial operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience; prior experience in general ledger and month-end close required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Familiarity with lease standard accounting.
  • Understanding of Revenue Recognition.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) and Microsoft Excel
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial documentation
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet strict deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Proactive problem solver with the ability to streamline accounting processes

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to the Controller in executing all accounting functions, including reporting, analysis, and compliance.
  • Perform general ledger accounting duties including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Execute and manage monthly close processes, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded and deadlines are met.
  • Prepare and review detailed balance sheet reconciliations to ensure account accuracy and integrity.
  • Maintain and administer the general ledger system, including account setup, period closing, and report generation.
  • Assist with audit preparation and coordinate the collection of supporting documentation.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
