About The Position

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • five years of experience in analysis, maintaining financial accounts and records
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • strong interpersonal communication
  • strong organizational skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Ellucian Banner and not-for-profit fund accounting and/or experience in a higher education environment is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, reviews and analyzes statistical and financial reports for internal (College) or external (Federal, State, etc.) distribution/submission.
  • Completes an analysis of accounts within the General Ledger in accordance with best practices and documented procedures and schedules.
  • Completes the annual Cost of Curriculum Study Report.
  • Responsible for plant fund accounting.
  • Assist with preparation of data for the Actuary.
  • Prepares automated or manual recurring fiscal reports in accordance with GAAP
  • Maintains ledger accounts and analyzes fiscal data;
  • Assists with fiscal year-end closing of financial records.
  • Assists with accounting for the Educational Opportunity Center.
  • Performs other duties assigned.
