Summary The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations for the firm while actively identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen internal controls. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities with a strong emphasis on process optimization, automation, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance the accuracy and scalability of financial operations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
2–5 years of accounting experience
Experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting.
Deep understanding of Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
Experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAGE Intacct, QuickBooks, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to identify inefficiencies and propose practical solutions.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Effective communication and collaboration across teams.
Continuous improvement mindset.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to process improvement initiatives or system optimization preferred.
Familiarity with process improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Analyze financial data and investigate variances.
Support financial reporting and management reporting activities.
Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor requests.
Maintain documentation for accounting procedures and internal controls.
Identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and recommend improvements.
Design and implement process enhancements to streamline financial operations.
Develop and maintain standardized accounting procedures and documentation.
Leverage accounting systems, spreadsheets, and automation tools to reduce manual work.
Partner with operations, FP&A, and IT teams to improve data flows and reporting accuracy.
Track and measure improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and cycle times.
Build and maintain reports and dashboards for accounting metrics.
Analyze trends and operational drivers impacting financial results.
Provide insights to support better financial and operational decision-making.
