Position Objective To provide assistance with managing and maintaining financial records, accounts, and data systems. This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial information used internally and externally, providing accurate reports, and making recommendations for management review and decision making in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in accounting or finance and two years of experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications

Responsibilities

  • Performs accounting entries, transactions, and reconciliations to provide accurate and timely financial records for department operations and reporting using various mediums such as spreadsheets and databases.
  • Assists in preparation of budgets and the necessary budget adjustments in order to properly fund departmental activities; prepare the necessary monthly/quarterly report of financial or statistical data to funding agencies.
  • Interprets and analyzes fiscal data; provides guidance for future departmental activities.
  • Monitors contracts, prepares invoicing and tracks bills to various agencies to account for accurate documentation and follow up.
  • Assists in the preparation of annual financial statements, budget requests and reports to guarantee up to date data analytics.
  • Prepares annual audit documents for review by External Auditor.
  • Assists in the creation and updating of county-wide finance policies and procedures.
  • Provides accounting assistance and policy guidance to other county departments.
  • Performs review and analysis of transactions for trends, compliance, and irregularities.
  • Facilitate data extractions and imports among financial systems for reconciliation and balancing.
  • Completes accounting services and guidance for outside agencies that the County is a fiscal host for.
  • Verifies the accuracy and authenticity of changes to the vendor master file.
  • Attends work regularly and in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
