About The Position

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate and reliable financial records by performing bank reconciliations, managing general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, and supporting month-end close activities. Requirements

  • Proven experience performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.
  • Hands-on experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
  • Solid knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial work.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify issues, and propose solutions.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills to handle recurring deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and auditors.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations across multiple accounts or entities.
  • Exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of cash records.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and internal records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to cash transactions and other routine accounting activities.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure proper classification and recording of financial transactions.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and clear explanations as needed.
  • Assist with other accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll when required.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company accounting policies, and standard accounting practices.
