About The Position

We are looking for an experienced accountant seeking a flexible work arrangement to help support the accounting and financial operations of our operating businesses.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys accounting work but is looking for a schedule that allows them to balance work with other responsibilities in life. The position offers meaningful and interesting accounting work without the demands of a traditional full-time role.

We welcome experienced accountants who may be returning to the workforce or looking for a flexible schedule while continuing to use their professional skills.

You will help support accounting and financial operations across several businesses including our restaurant group, marine construction company, and real estate entities. Our companies operate in the middle market and generate significant business activity, which provides a variety of practical accounting work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3–10+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles
• Proficiency in Excel
• Familiarity with accounting systems and financial reporting
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities within a flexible schedule

Nice To Haves

• Experience with payroll processing
• Experience working in operational or small business accounting environments
• Comfort working with basic data tools or financial systems

Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate journal entries across multiple operating entities
• Assist our HR Manager with payroll processing and payroll-related accounting entries
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records
• Help to prepare financial reporting packages
• Assist in tracking of key performance indicators for the business
• Review and analyze cash flow trends to help inform short-term payment decisions
• Assist with general financial analysis and reporting used by leadership to manage the business
• Help maintain organized accounting systems and reporting processes
