About The Position

About the Role Delavan Holdings is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our centralized Shared Services Accounting and Payroll team, serving multiple automotive and RV dealership locations. This role is ideal for an early-career accountant who wants hands-on exposure to payroll accounting, general ledger, month-end close, and dealership financial operations in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. You’ll work closely with Payroll and Accounting to ensure payroll-related entries are accurate, compliant, and timely, while also supporting broader accounting functions across the organization.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll processes
  • Experience with accounting software and payroll systems
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset when working with dealership and internal teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license

  • Payroll, dealership, or multi-entity accounting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Payroll Department with payroll processing across multiple auto and RV dealerships
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, deductions, benefits, and compliance documentation
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare payroll journal entries
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and profit & loss reports
  • Code invoices, set up new accounts, and close monthly books
  • Reconcile bank accounts, cash disbursements, and customer accounts
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
  • Assist with audit preparation and documentation
  • File required federal, state, and local tax forms
  • Ensure compliance with payroll and accounting regulations
  • Coordinate with accounting software vendors and recommend system improvements
  • Support purchasing and invoicing systems
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned
