We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting and finance team. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate billing, customer and project setup, and revenue reporting. The Staff Accountant will work cross-functionally with sales, production, operations, and leadership. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and comfortable identifying discrepancies across customers invoices and projects in a fast-paced, creator-driven media environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA is a plus but not required
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience supporting accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with AP and AR systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Workday is a plus.
  • Experience in media, entertainment, or public accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily accounting functions, including accounts receivable (AR) and bank reconciliations
  • Monitor billing schedules and collections timing
  • Prepare revenue-related journal entries, including accruals and adjustments
  • Support the team with revenue recognition activities in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Identify and assist with onboarding new or missing customers and projects, ensuring accurate setup in billing and accounting systems
  • Review customer invoices to identify mismatches, errors, or missing data across contracts, billing systems, and the general ledger
  • Partner with sales, production, and operations teams to resolve billing and customer setup issues and help identify process improvements
  • Assist with audit support and documentation
