About The Position

Responsible for independently managing key general ledger functions, performing complex account reconciliations, and providing analytical insights to support financial reporting, forecasting, and management decision‑making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and mathematical proficiency.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting, analyzing and reporting financial information.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Independently maintain and reconcile complex general ledger accounts and related subledgers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP.
  • Serve as a key contributor to month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
  • Prepare, review, and post daily and monthly journal entries requiring analysis, estimates, and judgement.
  • Complete schedules and maintain documentation for mortgage servicing rights, allowance for loan losses, other real estate owned, FDIC premiums, and other assigned areas.
  • Prepare and maintain schedules supporting current and deferred income tax accounts.
  • Maintain and oversee Fixed Asset schedules and sub-ledgers in accordance with corporate policy and GAAP.
  • Perform in‑depth variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts; identify trends, risks, and underlying business drivers, and communicate findings to Finance leadership.
  • Analyze financial results to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.
  • Validate and analyze financial data used in SEC, regulatory, tax, and REIT reporting, ensuring consistency and integrity across reporting platforms.
  • Collaborate with Finance personnel to ensure compliance with established accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Communicate and coordinate directly with external auditors during the annual financial statement audit.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide oversight and backup support for accounts payable processes as needed, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and internal control enhancements.
  • Conforms to General Performance Expectations as identified for all employees.
