About The Position

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant . This role plays a key part in supporting our Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, including billing, payment posting, collections, and month-end close. The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for revenue recognition and ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting experience required, with hands-on AR responsibilities.
• Revenue recognition experience required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred.
• Non-profit accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customer billing in a timely and accurate manner.
• Record and apply customer payments; maintain up‑to‑date AR subledgers.
• Manage collections activities, including communication with customers and internal teams.
• Support month-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting.
• Perform revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and organizational policies.
• Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve billing and revenue-related issues.
• Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
