About The Position

The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the financial integrity and operational visibility of a multi-site manufacturing region. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and driving process improvements across locations. This role goes beyond traditional accounting. The Staff Accountant will partner closely with site finance teams, operations leadership, and corporate accounting to improve reporting accuracy, streamline processes, and provide meaningful financial insight that supports business decisions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting skills with a proactive, systems-oriented mindset and a continuous improvement approach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including direct experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting principles
  • Experience preparing and analyzing general ledger account reconciliations
  • Experience with intercompany transactions and reconciliation of same
  • Thorough understanding of financial application security ensuring that all financial data is secure and complies with confidentiality policies
  • Must possess excellent type written, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience using ERP systems, including AP, AR, GL, inventory, payroll and fixed asset modules
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables, v lookups and other related analytical tools found within Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Established skills in accuracy, organization, meeting deadlines and working in a high-volume environment

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required
  • Experience in label printing, packaging, or manufacturing environments a plus
  • Lean or continuous improvement exposure desirable

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close processes for assigned sites, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses
  • Partner with site teams to improve inventory accounting accuracy, cost tracking, and variance analysis
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and compliance with corporate accounting policies
  • Assist with CapEx tracking, fixed asset accounting, and depreciation schedules
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Service, Sales, and FP&A to improve data integrity and reporting processes
  • Support external audits and internal audit requests
  • Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging ERP and BI tools
  • Contribute to special projects including system enhancements, reporting automation, and integration initiatives
