Summary: General Ledger Staff Accountant, responsible for supporting and assisting senior accountants and director in accounting operations, maintaining general ledger and coordinating accounts within the CRM system. Our Accounting Team has three progressively-responsible Staff Accountant positions at the International Foundation (Staff Accountant "1", Staff Accountant "2", and Senior Staff Accountant) We are currently searching for a "Level 2" Staff Accountant which requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required, CPA candidate optional.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting role(s)
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • General knowledge of CRM and Accounting Systems. Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Great Plains is helpful, but not required.
  • Showcase excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous organization skills, attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
  • Capable of both independent work and collaboration within a team environment.
  • Communicate effectively, displaying proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
  • Thorough knowledge of internal controls and audit procedures.
  • Familiarity with fixed asset accounting and maintenance.
  • Experience in preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Exhibit exceptional multitasking and adeptness in prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Proactive approach to identifying process improvements and implementing solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in budgeting, forecasting, supporting audits, and understanding of the impact of foreign exchange is preferred.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Great Plains is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis under the direction of the senior accountants and director.
  • Supports monthly accrual estimates for educational programs, board & committee meetings, and other.
  • Analyzes impact of foreign exchange on operations and prepares allocation on the balance sheet and income statement.
  • Prepares monthly foreign currency exchange and CPI data/reports.
  • Maintains fixed asset database for all organizations.
  • Supports completion of general ledger and financial statements for sub-company(s).
  • Performs routine internal control audits of accounts payables, speaker and board reimbursements, staff expense and credit card reports to ensure compliance with policy and tax law requirements .
  • Supports the department in the development of the annual budget.
  • Prepares workpapers and documentation requests for the annual audits and tax filings.
  • Maintains records retention for department per compliance requirements. Responsible to properly archive significant and mandatory financial documentation for the Foundation.
  • As needed, supports the accounts payable (A/P) function with workload, records maintenance, analysis of records, etc.
  • Makes process improvement recommendations.
