We are seeking a Staff Accountant who is eager to gain broad exposure across accounting and payroll functions within a growing organization. This role provides hands-on experience in month-end close, revenue billing, payroll processing, accounts payable, and full-cycle accounting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and motivated to develop technical accounting skills while contributing to accurate and timely financial operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience preferred, including use of Dayforce or a comparable payroll system.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a consistent record of accurate, high-quality work.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Deep understanding of payroll regulations, tax requirements, and payroll impacts to the general ledger and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-growing environment.
  • Demonstrated project management mindset and continuous improvement orientation.
  • Customer-focused approach with clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across teams and organizational levels

Responsibilities

  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year end close process, including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules for financial statements.
  • Support end‑to‑end U.S. payroll processing (semi‑monthly and quarterly cycles), including reconciliations and payroll journal entries.
  • Process payables from approvals, input, to payment to support services around the country.
  • Management of company credit card and expenses to help align with firm-wide budgets.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies; respond to employee payroll inquiries.
  • Take on payroll-related initiatives such as compensation statement preparation and delivery.
  • Participate in revenue billings cycle and support revenue recognition processes under applicable accounting guidance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and finance, including providing guidance and training to teammates on accounting policies and procedures to ensure adherence
  • Exposure to state and local filings and tax preparation for annual tax compliance filings
  • Assist with audits of financials, payroll, and accounting data and practices to ensure data integrity.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, streamline, and scale processes as Brighton Jones continues to grow.
