About The Position

Position Summary: The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. The individual holding this entry level position within our accounting department must be a collaborator and driven to learn and grow within the accounting profession.

Requirements

  • Minimum of associate degree with relatable experience
  • Three years of related experience in an accounting discipline for a manufacturing company preferred.
  • Direct experience in NACHA file preparation
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products.
  • Possess knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Holds understanding of and has ability to adhere to accepted accounting principles.
  • Possess basic understanding/knowledge of accounting software and ability to adapt to preferred accounting systems.
  • Ability to communicate in professional tone and manner in both verbal and written means.
  • Excellent organizational and ownership skills
  • Ability to analyze and compile data and complete tasks with high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment but demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with a high sense of urgency on time sensitive projects.
  • Ability to flexible with their schedule when business needs exist.
  • Must be able to sit/stand at a desk/working on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • Lift up to 15 lbs as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with IQMS and/or Crystal Reports a plus

Responsibilities

  • Performs general cost accounting, AP/AR tasks, and other related duties.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit/loss statements.
  • Maintains the general ledger.
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconcile accounts and closes monthly books.
  • Reconciles banks accounts on a weekly basis, verifying deposits and addresses inquiries from banking institutions.
  • Reconciles cash disbursement, payroll and customer accounts, and other miscellaneous financial accounts, manage accounts receivable collections.
  • Verifies and or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to appropriate accounts.
  • Prepares NACHA files and sets up vendors for ACH disbursements.
  • Assists Senior Accountant as needed, gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Responsible for accounting teammates on core job functions.
  • Must be able to cross train on other co-worker job responsibilities and will be expected to assume additional job functions as business need arises.
