About The Position

The General Staff Accountant supports the accounting and finance team. This role involves handling daily accounting tasks, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance with audit requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
1 - 3 years of relevant accounting experience
Proficiency in accounting software (Dynamics 365, Excel, Power BI)
Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant regulatory standards.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Process and record daily/weekly accounting transactions, including accounts payable and receivable as needed.
Assist in cash management, with the monitoring of receipts, payments, and deposits for corporate and branch accounts.
Maintain and update general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely entries.
Respond to discrepancies in all ledger entries as needed.
Weekly and monthly reconciliation of selected balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified in account reconciliations
Ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
Assist in analyzing financial results and variances
Collaborate with other departments to gather information for management reports
Prepare and organize financial records for external auditors.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation of transactions to support audit requirements.
Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Assist with implementing recommendations from audit findings to enhance processes and controls.
