About The Position

The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of SWE Homes L.P. by managing accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position supports the company's overall financial operations through detailed analysis and effective collaboration across departments.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3–5 years of relevant accounting experience; experience in real estate or property management is a plus.
Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar platforms preferred).
Solid experience with Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis functions).
Experience with financial reporting and reconciliations.
Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across departments.
High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data and compliance with internal controls.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reporting.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data and provide insights for various projects and business initiatives.
Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns and ensure adherence to applicable tax laws and regulations.
Analyze financial trends, variances, and key performance indicators to provide actionable recommendations to management.
Help develop, maintain, and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and industry best practices.
Prepare audit support schedules and documentation; assist with external and internal audits by responding to information requests.
Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as needed to support the finance team and organizational goals.
