About The Position

POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Staff Accountant at LJA Business Solutions, you will be responsible for the general ledger functions of the organization, including reconciliations, month-end and year-end close processes.

Requirements

  • BBA or BS in Accounting
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
  • Must be familiar with full cycle accounting.
  • Experience with multi-company processing preferred.
  • Experience with an ERP system
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis tools).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, without losing attention to detail.
  • Requires initiative based on familiarity with the organization and accounting practices and procedures.
  • Adaptable to multiple and frequent changes in business environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years of accounting experience with an emphasis on inventory or cost accounting.
  • Experience with BST or QuickBooks
  • Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review and verify the accuracy of journal entries, supporting schedules, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records in the accounting system.
  • Analyze inventory levels, costing, obsolescence, shrinkage, and valuation for financial reporting.
  • Train junior team members, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Assist with external audit requests.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal control guidelines.
  • Perform financial variance analysis
  • Assist management with ad-hoc requests, including special projects
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
