About The Position

The primary purpose of this role is to act as a strategic financial liaison between the Finance & Administration team and the Butler Arts & Events Center (BAEC). The position balances technical accounting rigor, including month-end close and data integrity management within Oracle Employee and Financials, with proactive business partnering to enhance the financial literacy of leadership and ensure resources are aligned with the University’s operational goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting in not-for-profit environment
  • Advanced Excel experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related specialty

Responsibilities

  • Develop effective working relationships with key members of the Finance & Administration team as well as the Butler Arts & Events Center, providing support on financial matters to deliver the best outcome for the University.
  • Supervise BAEC Business Manager
  • Assist with timely payments to artists.
  • Complete settlements of shows on a timely basis.
  • To prepare annual budgets, project budgets, and project cost statements for the Butler Arts & Events Center, partnering leaders by presenting options and helping to identify solutions.
  • Monitor Butler Arts & Events Center budgets on a routine basis.
  • To support managers with their use of the Oracle Employee & Financials (OEF), ensuring that finances are effectively managed.
  • To assist in the development of BAEC team’s financial management skills, including assisting in finance training as needed.
  • To assist with the development and maintenance of systems, processes and procedures that enable the smooth and efficient running of the university’s finances, commensurate with its size and anticipated growth or contraction.
  • Processing interface and journal entry uploads, verifying accuracy of data, resolving issues, and confirming data integrity with campus departments as needed.
  • Preparing journal entries and monthly/quarterly reconciliations.
  • Managing the internal financial reporting distribution, processes, and setting up new operating departments, accounts, and programs.
  • This position will be involved in the month-end close and quarterly financial statement preparation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
