About The Position

The Staff Accountant is expected to develop a working knowledge of requisite software and internal work flow/procedures. They have a direct responsibility for maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, cash accounting including receipts and bank reconciliation, and producing and analyzing various accounting and financial reports.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree preferably in Accounting or Finance
3 to 5 Years' experience in accounting with multiple locations
Full knowledge of GL with an understanding of balance sheet versus P&L
A complete understanding of AP and AR processes
Strong Excel experience is needed
Solid history working with reconciliations, accruals, general allocations, journal entries, month-end/year-end closing
Strong communication and comprehension skills - verbal and written
Ability to self-manage, show initiative, be proactive, and drive results

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Concur and OneStream Software are a plus
Cross train with Payroll, A/P and A/R

Responsibilities

Assist in monthly close process
Assist in financial statement preparation and analysis
Daily cash balancing and bank reconciliations
Develop and maintain financial record keeping and reporting systems
Ensure that all general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary records on a monthly basis
Perform reconciliations to ensure that they are prepared properly and follow-up on any unusual items
Assist controller with SOX, quarterly, and annual audit requests and documentation
File Sales tax, property tax, business licenses and 2290 Heavy vehicle tax
Review paid invoices and expenses for accuracy
Reviews and processes recurring journal entries monthly
