Position Summary The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the Plaza Theatre. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and supporting event-based financial reporting. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and is highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven. About the Venue The Palm Spring Plaza Theatre is a historic 700-seat performing arts venue located in the heart of Palm Springs, California. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Deadline-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel proficiency required).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Problem-solving mindset.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of NetSuite preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Post and reconcile journal entries.
  • Prepare event settlements and corresponding sales journals.
  • Perform analysis of accounting records.
  • Prepare detailed event profitability statements.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Provide financial reporting support to the Director of Finance as needed.
