About The Position

The Staff Accountant is heavily involved with the day-to-day accounting
functions for the Bank, Holding Company and other related entities. The Staff
Accountant will assist with month end, quarter end and year end close processes,
as necessary. This includes general ledger journal entries, reconciliation
preparation, and analytical research of reconciling items.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3 years of required experience as a book-keeper or equivalent, banking and intercompany experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of accounting functions.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and perform in a deadline driven environment.
• Microsoft office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• knowledge of how transactions flow through the General Ledger
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel as needed

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, prepare journal entries, and complete various periodic reconciliations in a timely manner. Research reconciling items to ensure they are resolved within the established timeframe. Communicate recurring reconciling issues or unusual reconciling items to management.
• Daily reconciliation and review of the FRB account and related clearing accounts.
• Support the month-end closing process and assist with managing the accuracy of the general ledger.
• Collaborate with Accounting Operations Supervisor to ensure procedures are updated on at least an annual basis.
• Assist with liquidity tracking of the Institution and various miscellaneous requests from outside the department.
• Assist with the Accounts Payable process, as needed.
