Our well-established client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support financial operations across its portfolio. This role works closely with accounting, operations, and property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, billing, and compliance. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and ability to manage deadlines
Nice To Haves
- Experience in property or real estate accounting preferred
- Familiarity with Sage 300 or similar accounting software is a plus
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and analyze general ledger activity and financial statements
- Perform variance analysis and support month-end close processes
- Cash Management & Reconciliations
- Process daily cash receipts including checks, ACH, and wire transactions
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Billing & Accounts Receivable
- Support tenant billing processes and ensure accuracy of lease-related charges
- Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections and documentation
- Accounts Payable & Vendor Support
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy and proper coding
- Coordinate with accounts payable to ensure timely processing
- Budgeting & Audit Support
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting schedules
- Support audits and maintain organized financial documentation
- Additional Responsibilities
- Track insurance certificates and compliance documentation
- Assist with job costing and financial project tracking
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate reporting across properties
