About The Position

Our Blood Institute is actively looking for a Staff Accountant. This position would assist the Controller with the month-end closing process and provide management with financial information by researching and analyzing financial data. Also, this position will play a key role in maintaining the company's accounting software applications and functions. Location: Oklahoma City, OK Pay: Competitive salary based on education and/or experience Benefits: Health, dental, vision, life insurance, long term disability, 401(k), paid time off, tuition reimbursement, holiday pay, etc. Days: Monday through Friday Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum Two years General Ledger Accounting experience
  • High Proficiency with Excel & Other Accounting software
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Analytical problem-solving ability
  • Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize objectives and job duties
  • Ability to plan/organize workload, while maintaining flexibility
  • Good Communication Skills

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and posting journal vouchers for month end and year end closing.
  • Identifying, recording and posting monthly, quarterly and year end accrual entries.
  • Maintaining subsidiary ledgers as necessary.
  • Support month end and year end close process.
  • Preparing monthly account reconciliation reports of various balance sheet accounts & income statement accounts assigned by controller/management.
  • Preparing supplemental management reports when requested by management.
  • Overseeing and maintaining the functionality of the accounting software applications by developing new reports using Pivot Tables or VLookup and troubleshooting software problems when they arise.
  • Activities relating to year-end financial audit including preparation of audit work papers and financial reports for examination.
  • Providing accounting/financial support to other departments when needed.
