Vessel is growing rapidly, with scores of projects in planning, and we’re looking for an exceptional Staff Accountant to join the team. In this role, you will help strengthen the financial infrastructure that supports our growing operations. Working closely with project managers and leadership, you will help oversee accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls to ensure our projects are tracked accurately and efficiently.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience is required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting; experience in construction, real estate, manufacturing, or similar environments is a plus
  • Proficiency in SOX compliance, IFRS standards, and GAAP regulations
  • Experience with Netsuite and various accounting software platforms
  • A builder and operator with an entrepreneurial mindset, ideally with experience in startups, venture creation, or growth-stage environments
  • Energized by the idea of helping reinvent how homes are built, delivered, and lived in

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
  • Prepare and reconcile P&L and balance sheet reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Assist with preparation of annual tax returns and other regulatory filings
  • Prepare accurate, timely, and clearly presented financial information for analysis and review
  • Apply appropriate accounting standards and procedures to the recording and reporting of company financial activity
  • Set up projects, budgets, contracts, and amendments within accounting systems
  • Review and interpret client and vendor contract terms to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoicing and payments
  • Review and approve payables on a weekly basis to ensure timely and accurate payments
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, ensuring required reports and documentation are submitted and maintained in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
  • Review account and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
