About The Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with 1–2 years of accounting experience to join our growing finance team. This role will work directly with our forward-thinking Director of Finance to support month-end close, maintain financial accuracy, and implement modern tools and AI-driven solutions to streamline accounting operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accountant who wants hands-on exposure across all areas of accounting in a dynamic fintech environment and is excited about leveraging automation and technology to improve processes.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of accounting experience in a small/mid size company
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting
- Experience with monthly close processes
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Excel
Nice To Haves
- Experience with QuickBooks Online
- Exposure to fintech, SaaS, or startup environments
- Experience working with multi-entity or multi-bank reconciliations
- Interest in automation, systems improvement, or AI tools
Responsibilities
- Prepare and record payroll journal entries (TriNet) including salary, wage, PTO accrual, and reimbursement entries
- Perform month end close tasks as assigned
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple financial institutions (including operating, sweep, reserve, clearing, and credit card accounts
- Support our donation operation by processing month end user donations and sending payments out to charities.
